Frontier Geoscience Project (Multichannel seismic reflection data, GSC Open File 3921)

Seismic section

From 1984 to 1990, over 6800 kilometres of deep (> 15 s) multichannel reflection seismic data were collected offshore Eastern Canada as part of the GSC's Frontier Geoscience Project. Also referred to as "offshore Lithoprobe lines", the data, images and documentation are available here in various forms.

Users may freely download from this site:

  • GIF images of the seismic data
(NOTE: If you have trouble viewing hi-res images with your browser, try downloading them)
  • Shot point locations (navigation)
  • Acquisition and processing reports (PDF)
  • Relevant citations where the data were first interpreted

SEG-Y Stack data are also available through this resource, but, due to file size, are stored on a separate archive server. Users may browse the images and documentation on this site and, if desired, can submit a request for the SEG-Y data or download SEG-Y files from Lithoprobe Data Archive.

Orders for SEG-Y data will be processed through the GSC Atlantic order department and sent to you at the address specified in the order form.

Copying charges may apply to external requests for data

Note: Paper sections are available through GSC Atlantic
