EAST-CENTRAL LABRADOR ECOLOGICAL LAND INVENTORY

  LATITUDE/LONGITUDE MAP SHEET DATA vs. Transverse Mercator data

   The East-Central Labrador Ecological Land Survey (ELS) data in
   latitude/longitude co-ordinates are intended for GIS
   users who may wish to perform their own vertical integration
   of the various layers and themes, or for GIS users who may
   want to integrate these data with GIS data of their own.

   Thematic data layers are intentionally extended past
   the shoreline and as such does not contain the proper
   definition of shoreline. The data are not projected and
   co-ordinates, areas and perimeters are in decimal degrees.

   DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DERIVE AREA STATISTICS FROM THESE DATA
   UNTIL THEY ARE INTEGRATED WITH A PROPER SHORELINE AND THE
   RESULTS PROJECTED TO A SUITABLE MAP PROJECTION.

   If the above restrictions do not meet your GIS objectives,
   obtain the equivalent Level II projected data where all sixteen
   sheets have been horizontally integrated, vertically integrated
   with a corresponding shoreline coverage, and where the results
   have been projected to Transverse Mercator.

 LES DONNÉES CARTOGRAPHIQUES DE LATITUDE ET LONGITUDE par rapport 
aux données de Mercator transverse

Les données du Relevé écologique du territoire du centre-est du 
Labrador en coordonnées de latitude et longitude sont présentées à l
'intention des utilisateurs de SIG qui souhaitent réaliser leur 
propre intégration verticale des différentes couches et thèmes ou po
ur les utilisateurs de SIG qui souhaiteraient intégrer ces données 
à leurs propres données de SIG.

Les couches de données thématiques ont été volontairement étendues 
au-delà des lignes de côte et ne contiennent donc pas la juste dé
finition du tracé des côtes. Les données ne sont pas projetées. 
Les cordonnées, les superficies et les périmètres sont en degrés déc
imaux.

VOUS NE POURREZ OBTENIR DES STATISTIQUES RÉGIONALES DE CES DONNÉES 
TANT QU'ELLES NE SERONT PAS INTÉGRÉES À UN TRACÉ DE CÔTE APPROPRI
É ET QUE LES RÉSULTATS NE SERONT PAS PRÉSENTÉS DANS UNE PROJECTION 
CARTOGRAPHIQUE ADÉQUATE.

Si ces restrictions ne conviennent pas à vos objectifs de SIG,
procurez-vous les données projetées équivalentes de Niveau II 
où les seize feuillets ont été intégrés horizontalement, intégrés vert
icalement avec la couverture de tracé de côte correspondant et où 
les résultats sont en projection de Mercator transverse.
