RADAR Imagery - Vancouver Island (ERS-1 DEM and mosaic file)


The file vanmos.zip is composed of 16 ERS-1 images.  It is 4321 pixels by 
3601 lines and contains 1 band of data.  The images were acquired between 
February 28, 1993 and April 23, 1993.  The geographic bounds are: Latitude
48° - 51° N and Longitude 123° - 129° W, with sampling intervals of 3 
seconds (latitude) and 5 seconds (longitude).   

These images have been processed so that they can be used directly within 
ArcView.  The images are registered in geographic coordinates 
(longitude/latitude).  If you are using images registered in geographic 
coordinates, do not set a projection for your view otherwise, image and 
feature data will not align.

The file vandem.zip is a digital elevation model of the same area as 
described above.  The file dimensions and boundaries are the same.

Ensemble d'images RADAR- Vancouver Island (Contient le fichier de la ERS-1 
MEN et Mosaïque)


Le fichier vanmos.zip est composé de 16 images ERS-1.  Il comprend  4 321 
pixels répartis sur 3 601 lignes et contient une bande de données.  Les 
images ont été prises entre le 28 février et le 23 avril 1993.  Les 
coordonnées géographiques sont les suivantes : latitude 48 - 51 N et 
longitude 123 - 129 W  et les pas d'échantillonnage sont de 3 seconds
(pour les latitudes) et de 5 seconds (pour les longitudes).   

Le fichier vandem.zip contient un modèle numérique des altitudes d'une même 
région tel que décrit ci-dessous.  Le volume et les limites des fichiers sont 
identiques.
