Title: Spatial models of a climate moisture index for 3 future time periods – 30 year averages 2011-2040, 2041-2070, 2071-2100 Abstract: We present future 30-year average models of a Climate Moisture Index (CMI) at the monthly and annual time step covering North America. The CMI is an index of atmospheric moisture balance: positive values indicate an excess of precipitation while negative values indicate a precipitation deficit. The calculation is based on monthly precipitation minus monthly potential evapotranspiration (PET) of a simplified form of Penman-Monteith equation. Models are provided for 4 Global Circulation Models (and their average) and 3 RCPs (2.6, 4.5, 8.5).
